Thermador’s Star Burner is star-shaped rather than round – Thermador says the shape gives a perimeter 56% longer than a round burner of the same size, room for more flame ports and a smaller cold spot. The same burner handles ExtraLow simmering by cycling itself on and off, so a Thermador that clicks and relights at its lowest setting is usually working as designed.

Thermador equipment we handle:
Thermador is a BSH brand – BSH is owned by the Bosch Group and sells Bosch, Thermador and Gaggenau in North America – so some Thermador dishwasher messages read much like the ones on our Bosch repair page.
A burner sparks without lighting, keeps clicking, or lights unevenly around the star.
Thermador’s gas cooktop troubleshooting starts with burner caps that have been moved out of position, wet or clogged burner ports and damp igniters, and notes that clicking during ExtraLow cycling is normal. For a burner that will not light, Thermador says the igniters may be dirty and should be wiped with a water-dampened cotton swab once cool. Parts-retailer guides add a damaged or misaligned cap, a failing spark module that sparks weakly or only sometimes, and spark switches shorted by spills.
Seat the caps, clear the ports, dry and clean the igniters, then test the spark switches and module. We ask whether the clicking happens only on ExtraLow before treating it as a fault.
Dirty water remains after the cycle and the display shows E24 or E25.
Thermador’s error-code page gives the same set of causes for both: a blocked or loose drain pump cover, a kinked drain hose, or a clogged air gap or hose. Its listed fixes are cleaning the pump cover, checking the hose, clearing the air gap and running a rinse cycle. Thermador also lists E22 for a blocked filter, and asks owners to clean the filter every one to four months depending on use.
Clear the filter and the pump cover, check the air gap at the sink and the hose run, then test the pump if the code returns with a clear path.
A new or recently reset column has no ice, or production has dropped off.
Thermador says a new unit can take about 24 hours to start producing ice and 72 hours to reach full production. Past that, it lists low water pressure, jammed cubes, the ice scoop left in the bin, a freezer set too warm, a clogged water filter and the ice bin detection switch.
Check freezer temperature and the bin switch first, then the filter and water pressure at the valve, before moving to the ice maker assembly.
A zone will not heat the pot, or an F and a number flash alternately on the display.
Thermador recommends cookware between 3 1/2 and 13 inches in diameter and a simple magnet test – if a magnet sticks to the bottom, the pan should work. An F with a number flashing in alternation is how Thermador’s induction cooktops report a fault.
Rule out the cookware first, then note the F code and test the zone’s electronics.
Recipes over- or under-bake, preheat seems slow, or the steam oven asks for descaling.
Thermador’s range-oven troubleshooting covers slow preheat and lets owners offset the oven temperature by plus or minus 35°F in 5°F steps. For steam ovens, Thermador’s remedy for limescale is to run the DESCALE program.
Verify actual cavity temperature with an independent probe before touching the offset, then check elements, sensor and igniter if the oven is genuinely out of range.
Thermador calls are booked same-day or next-day depending on technician availability and your address. A same-day booking comes with a 2–3 hour arrival window, and the technician calls 20–30 minutes before arriving. If a Thermador part has to be ordered from out of state, we give you the expected wait at the diagnosis.
Thermador's model number is printed on a rating plate on the appliance itself; on refrigeration columns Thermador shows it on an interior side panel. Its support site has a model-number finder with a picture for each product type. We fit OEM or original parts according to your preference and stock. Our diagnostic runs $50–69 depending on the product and is waived with a repair, and every repair includes a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.
Thermador service reaches Richmond (77406, 77407, 77469), Rosenberg (77471), Sugar Land (77479), Katy (77450, 77493, 77494) and Fulshear (77441) – nine ZIP codes in all. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; call (832) 598-8646 and we will confirm your address is covered.

ExtraLow works by cycling the Star Burner on and off, and Thermador lists that clicking as normal. Clicking at higher settings, or a burner that will not light, is worth a service call.
Thermador says E15 means the safety switch has found water in the base and leak protection is active. Its instruction is to turn off the water inflow and get service - the leak behind it has to be found.
Every one to four months depending on use, according to Thermador, and after loads with a lot of food soil or starch.
Yes, including the ice maker and cooling problems on refrigerator and freezer columns.
A $50–69 diagnostic based on the product type, which is waived if you approve the repair. New customers get up to 25% off the first repair.
