LG states an LE code appears when the tub fails to spin, because the motor cannot operate properly with the machine overloaded or a foreign object stuck in the tub. LG’s error-code list describes the same fault as the motor being overloaded and locked, and suggests letting the appliance rest for 30 minutes before restarting. LG names a coin as the example, and points to the bedding cycle for large blankets.
Start at the cheap end, following LG’s sequence: unplug five minutes and retry, cut the load and use the bedding cycle, then power off, unload and check the tub. If LE returns on an ordinary load with a clear tub, the fault is in the machine rather than the laundry.
Lights come on, the panel responds, fans are audible – but the freezer back wall has gone bare of frost and the fresh food side is climbing.
This symptom gets one diagnosis by default – the linear compressor – sometimes rightly, and expensively. LG’s Inverter Linear Compressor is the subject of class action litigation alleging premature failure, and a 2020 settlement covered refrigerators manufactured between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2017. But iFixit documents cheaper faults behind the same symptom: loose or oxidized connections, a tripped or failed thermal overload, a failed run capacitor, or a board whose inverter never reaches 200 volts output within two minutes.
Rule those out before anyone signs off on a sealed system job – connectors, thermal overload, run capacitor, inverter output, and the blink code, which iFixit lists as two blinks for a piston stroke overrun and five for a locked piston.

FlowSense reports a measurement, not an opinion: LG states d75, d80, d90 and d95 mean the exhaust duct is clogged 75%, 80%, 90% and 95% respectively. Two LG cautions matter more than the number – blockages can occur where the ductwork is too long or has too many bends, and not all blockages can be easily seen, so a vent hood that looks open does not settle it. iFixit adds faults that imitate a blockage in a clear duct: a hi-limit thermostat opening below its design temperature, fooling FlowSense into reading the dryer as hotter than it is; a failed cycling thermostat or outlet thermistor; or a faulty board.
LG’s safety instruction comes first: a severely restricted exhaust may create an unsafe environment, and LG says not to use the dryer until the exhaust system has been cleaned and repaired. We check airflow at the outside hood with the dryer running and work back. If the duct is clear, we test the thermostats, thermistor and board.
