An oven rarely announces its own fault. It lights, the display counts up to the number you set, the tone sounds, and the only evidence that anything is wrong comes out on the baking sheet – edges dark while the middle is raw, or a tray that needed another twenty minutes nobody planned for. That gap between what the panel claims and what the cavity is doing is where a good share of Fulshear oven calls live.
The rest are blunter. Nothing heats, or the cooktop burners light while the oven stays cold, or the door has locked itself. Each has a published checklist behind it. Booking for 77441 is on (832) 598-8646.

What Fulshear callers describe when the oven is the appliance in question: The preheat tone sounds noticeably later than it used to Baking browns unevenly front to back, or only on one side Every recipe now wants a setting higher than the book says The cooktop burners light normally while the oven stays stone cold Broil does nothing while bake still works, or the other way round The door locked during a cleaning cycle and has not released The convection fan stays silent on a convection setting.
What Fulshear callers describe when the oven is the appliance in question:
Nothing is obviously broken, but the wait before the tone has stretched out, and dinner is now planned around it.
There is a published benchmark to measure against: Whirlpool says an oven normally preheats in 12 to 15 minutes, give or take. The same page lists what legitimately lengthens it, and most of it is not a fault. Unused racks left in the cavity add to the time, so any rack not in use should come out. Newer ovens have larger cavities than past models. A hidden bake element gives buffered heat and takes longer by design. An oven installed at 208V takes longer, and a cold room lengthens it too. The last instruction concerns the door: avoid leaving it open for an extended period, and get the food in as soon after the signal as possible.
The oven heats, holds and behaves – it simply is not doing what the dial says, and the same recipes no longer work.
Whirlpool’s first instruction here surprises people: do not use a thermometer to measure oven temperature. Elements cycle on and off to hold a consistent temperature and may run slightly hot or cool at any moment, and most thermometers are too slow to react to read accurately. The test Whirlpool publishes instead uses biscuits – spaced 1 to 2 inches apart on an un-greased cookie sheet, rack in the middle position, the oven preheated until the tone or for 12 minutes without an indicator, and the temperature set 25°F lower than the package calls for if the sheet is dark or non-stick. The oven is calibrated correctly if they are done and evenly browned inside the package time range. Whirlpool’s controls take an offset between +30°F and -30°F, and it says never to calibrate more than 10 degrees at a time.
The display works, the cycle is accepted, and nothing in the cavity ever gets warm.
Whirlpool’s own list starts with the things that are not repairs. The door has to be closed all the way, because the elements will not come on if it is open. Control Lock has to be off – look for it on the console and reset by holding the button, typically for 3 seconds. Demo mode stops the oven operating and plays a short presentation. A bake function set with a Delayed Start will not begin until the start time. Past those, iFixit’s Whirlpool procedure works through the parts: examine the visible part of the bake element for blisters, cracks or broken sections, then read its resistance, where a working element measures roughly 20 to 40 ohms and an OL reading means it has failed. The temperature sensor is next, at about 1050 to 1100 ohms at room temperature. Where those and the supply check out but the board is not delivering 208 to 240 VAC to the bake element terminals, the board is what is left.
Every surface burner lights on demand and the oven does nothing, which makes it look as though the gas is fine.
It usually is fine – to the cooktop. Whirlpool points to a second valve most owners never knew existed: the pressure regulator sits at the back of the range, and when its shut-off lever is OFF, gas flows to the cooktop burners but does not supply the oven. That single lever explains the whole symptom. After a range has been installed or reconnected, air can also sit trapped in the line, and Whirlpool’s remedy is to turn on any surface burner to release it. Ignition is electrical as much as gas: Whirlpool states that correct operation of the surface burner and oven ignitors depends on a good ground path for the spark, asks for a 120-volt AC grounded outlet, and warns against two-prong adapters and extension cords. It also flags the storage drawer, where pots, pans or spare racks can interfere with the igniter.
Appointments are usually available same-day or next-day, depending on technician availability and your location. For same-day service we normally provide a 2–3 hour arrival window and call you about 20–30 minutes before the technician arrives.
Oven visits are scheduled against 77441, the single postal area Fulshear uses – Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek, North Fulshear Estates and Polo Ranch among the addresses inside it, along with the streets off FM 1093. A few details told on the phone decide what the technician brings:
Where to read on: oven repair covers the appliance across every city on our list, and appliance repair in Fulshear the rest of 77441. The extractor above the range is on vent hood repair, and a built-in or countertop unit goes to microwave repair. By brand: Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Bosch. Call (832) 598-8646.

Whirlpool puts normal preheat at 12 to 15 minutes, give or take. Longer is not automatically a fault - the same page lists unused racks, a larger modern cavity, a hidden bake element, installation at 208V and a cold room as things that stretch the time.
Whirlpool says not to. Elements cycle on and off and may run slightly hot or cool because of that cycling, and most thermometers are too slow to react to read accurately. The test it publishes instead is a tray of biscuits on a middle rack, judged on whether they are done and evenly browned inside the package time.
Up to a point that is the cycle behaving as designed. Whirlpool says the door locks about 6 seconds after the cycle starts and needs the oven to cool to approximately 200°F before it opens - allow roughly 30 to 90 minutes. For an ordinary lock that will not clear, press Cancel/Off to start a latch reset and wait 20 to 30 seconds, or switch the power off at the breaker for one minute.
Not necessarily. Whirlpool says the convection fan stops when the door is opened, runs during preheat on both convection and non-convection functions, and starts immediately on electric convection models but only after approximately five minutes on gas ones. Confirm first that a convection cycle was actually selected rather than plain bake.
Yes, gas or electric, anywhere in 77441. Tell us which it is when you call, and whether the cooktop still works, because that answer splits the fault list before anyone sets off. Ring (832) 598-8646, Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and we confirm availability based on your ZIP code.
