Current Miele dishwashers tell you what went wrong in words rather than numbers: Drain, Intake or Waterproof. Older US models such as the G 4281 and G 4286 show fault numbers instead – F11 for drainage, F12/F13 for water intake and F70 for the Waterproof system. Either way, the message narrows the search to one part of the machine, so write it down before you switch anything off.
We repair Miele dishwashers as well as Miele washers with TwinDos, heat-pump dryers, ovens and other Miele kitchen appliances for homes in Sugar Land, Katy, Richmond, Fulshear and Rosenberg. Call (832) 598-8646 with the message on the display and the model from the data plate.

What a Miele visit can cover:
A dishwasher that has stopped mid-cycle often still has water in the tub. Leave the door closed and the machine plugged in until we arrive – on Miele units the Waterproof protection only works while the dishwasher stays connected to power.
The program ends or stops with dirty water standing in the wash cabinet, and the display shows Drain (current models) or Fault F11 (older G 4281/4286).
Miele’s manuals point to the same drain path on both generations: a clogged filter combination, a drain pump blocked by foreign objects, the non-return valve, or a kink or high loop in the drain hose. Miele specifically warns that glass splinters in the drain pump are hard to see. Its installation limits also matter after a remodel – a drain run no longer than 13 ft (4 m) and a delivery head no higher than 3 ft (1 m).
Clear and inspect the filter combination and microfilter, open the drain pump and check the impeller by hand with care, then check the non-return valve and the hose routing under the sink. A clean pump that still does not move water is tested electrically before it is replaced.
The program will not start its wash, the machine hums without taking water, or it reports Intake or Fault F12/F13.
Miele’s first instruction is to open the water supply all the way. After that it points to the filter built into the inlet hose’s screw thread, which protects the water inlet valve and restricts flow when it clogs. Low supply pressure is the third cause – Miele gives 7.25 psi as the minimum for current models and 4.35 psi for the older G 4281/4286.
Confirm the shutoff is fully open, pull and clean the inlet filter, and measure what the valve actually receives. If pressure and filter are fine, the inlet valve and its control are tested next.
The dishwasher stops, shows Waterproof (or F70 on older US models) and will not run again.
Miele describes this as the Waterproof system reacting, and its instruction is to turn the dishwasher off, turn off the water supply and get service. Miele also states that the system protects against water damage only when installation was done correctly and the machine has been maintained, with damaged parts replaced.
Keep the water supply off until the source is found. We check the base, hoses, door seal area and internal connections for where the water came from, repair that, and only then return the machine to normal use. Clearing the message without finding the leak just sets up the next one.
A numbered fault appears on a newer AutoDos-generation model.
Miele’s current manual lists F78 as a circulation pump fault, F33 as the door not opening automatically, and F18 as a technical fault. For each one, Miele sends the owner to service rather than a self-fix.
These faults need a technician’s diagnosis – we test the circulation pump, the automatic door-opening mechanism or the component behind the code, and tell you what failed before any part is ordered.
Cycles stretch out, the plinth filter light comes on, or clothes come out damp.
Miele’s heat-pump dryers have two lint filters in the door opening, which Miele says to clean after every program to prevent longer run times, and a plinth filter to clean whenever its light comes on or programs run longer than usual. On TwinDos washers, Miele’s drain and intake messages point to a blocked filter or pump, a drain hose fixed too high (39 3/8 in. maximum), or a kinked or clogged intake.
Clean both lint filters and the plinth filter, then check airflow and the heat-pump circuit. For a washer that will not drain or fill, the filter, pump and hoses are checked before any control or pump replacement.
We schedule most Miele dishwasher and laundry calls same-day or next-day, depending on technician availability and where you are. A same-day slot means a 2–3 hour arrival window, with a call 20–30 minutes ahead. If your Miele needs a part we do not have on hand, we tell you the lead time up front.
On a Miele dishwasher, the model and serial number are on the data plate on the right side of the door (older models: along the right edge of the door). A photo of that plate is the fastest way to get the right pump, valve or filter. We install OEM or original parts, depending on what you prefer and what is available - some Miele parts are shipped from out of state. Diagnostics cost $50–69 by appliance type, with the fee dropped if we do the repair, and work is backed 90 days on parts and 30 days on labor.
Our Miele service area is nine ZIP codes in five cities: Sugar Land (77479), Katy (77450, 77493, 77494), Richmond (77406, 77407, 77469), Fulshear (77441) and Rosenberg (77471). Phone (832) 598-8646 Monday–Saturday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, and we will confirm your ZIP.

Miele's instruction is to switch the dishwasher off, turn off the water supply and call for service. The message means the leak protection has reacted, so the cause needs to be found before the machine runs again.
Current Miele models show a Check filters message after every 50 programs. Miele's steps are to pull the microfilter off the filter combination and rinse all of the filters under running water - and never to run a program without the filters in place.
No. Miele warns that loose powder or liquid detergent damages AutoDos. It is designed for PowerDisk cartridges, and Miele says one PowerDisk lasts about 20 cycles depending on the program.
