A Richmond mailing address can sit in any of three ZIP codes: Aliana and Grand Mission in 77407, Pecan Grove and Harvest Green in 77406, Veranda and Riverpark in 77469. A Whirlpool laundry pair or range in any of them is on our Richmond routing, and we sort the visit by ZIP before anything else.
What follows is organised around four symptoms owners describe on public repair forums and in Whirlpool parts documentation – spin, dryer heat, oven sensor, ice – with the checks those sources name. Book on (832) 598-8646.

Because Maytag, Amana, JennAir and KitchenAid are Whirlpool Corporation badges too, a Maytag washer in 77407 is read through the same F-and-E code logic.
Wash motion looks normal and the water pumps out, yet the basket stays put when it should whirl, and F7E5 or F7E1 flashes.
Those two codes share hardware without meaning the same thing. F7E5 says the transmission did not shift between agitate and spin; F7E1 flags the basket speed sensor, which lives inside that shift actuator. Parts-site answers tie a dying actuator to heavy grinding with tub and agitator turning slowly or not at all. A sock jammed under the impeller can mimic it with every component healthy.
We clear the basket and look underneath for trapped fabric, reseat the harness plugs, then put a meter on the shifter motor – roughly 2,000-3,500 ohms by the cited parts documentation – so a working actuator is not swapped on a hunch.
Motor and drum run, the countdown finishes, and towels come out as damp as they went in.
A parts retailer’s no-heat list for the Whirlpool WED5800BW0 electric dryer shows the thermal fuse at 44%, the heating element at 22%, the thermal cut-off kit at 5%, the element connecting wire at 4% and the thermistor at 3%. That spread matters – the fuse opens because of excess heat, so a clogged exhaust can keep killing new ones. The same source puts cleaning the vent and lint path ahead of any testing.
Airflow through the duct is restored first. Continuity on the fuse, the element, the cut-off kit and its wiring follows, in roughly the order the frequency data suggests.
Bake starts, the cavity warms a little, and the element drops out with F3E2 on the panel.
The code implicates the oven temperature probe, its wiring, or the electronic control. Because the probe unplugs, it can be measured: parts documentation for Whirlpool’s sealed RTD sensor gives 1,080-1,100 ohms at room temperature. A forum case records a new probe fitted and the fault returning unchanged, which pointed at the board instead.
A cold resistance reading on the probe, a visual trace of its harness for heat damage, and only then a judgement on the control.
Pressing the lever gives water as usual, but the tray upstairs stays dry for days.
Owners on iFixit describe a frozen plug inside the small tube that feeds the ice maker, thawed with a hair dryer – which explains why the dispenser line keeps flowing. iFixit’s wider guide adds a supply valve that should read 500 ohms to 1.5 kilohms and needs at least 20 psi, and says the ice maker assembly is the last suspect, after simpler parts are cleared.
Fill tube inspected for ice, valve coils measured, supply pressure confirmed, and freezer temperature read, since iFixit also notes the ice maker will not work properly above 10°F. The assembly is condemned last.
Appointments are usually available same-day or next-day, depending on technician availability and your location. For same-day service we normally provide a 2–3 hour arrival window and call you about 20–30 minutes before the technician arrives.
Where we go in Richmond – all three ZIP codes:
Two naming quirks: Long Meadow Farms crosses from 77406 into 77407, and Greatwood Lake sits in 77469 while Greatwood proper is Sugar Land. Either way we cover it; the ZIP just tells us which route.

Yes. 77407 is one of the three Richmond ZIP codes we cover, along with 77406 and 77469, so Aliana, Grand Mission and Lakemont all book as Richmond.
Same-day or next-day is typical, depending on who is available and where the house sits. Same-day bookings carry a 2-3 hour window, and the technician phones about 20-30 minutes before pulling up.
Largely, yes. Maytag belongs to Whirlpool Corporation, and the shift actuator involved in F7E5 is listed against Maytag machines as well. Details are on our Maytag appliance repair page.
The model number from its sticker and any code on the display, written exactly - F7E1 and F7E5 point in different directions.
Clear the exhaust before you do. A thermal fuse opens on overheating, so an obstructed vent can take out the replacement as well. Our dryer repair visits start at the duct.
